The Hilton in Las Vegas, that also has
the famed Star Trek Experience, now offers weddings! There’s
different levels depending on what you want to pay: Captain’s
Wedding, Admiral Wedding, Starfleet Wedding, Junior Officer’s
Wedding. You get married on the bridge of the Enterprise with Klingons
and Ferengi as witnesses. How cool would this be? TOTALLY COOL that’s
how!
I would LOVE to have this. Have all the groomsman
dress as Klingons and the bridesmaids in the female Starfleet uniforms
from the Kirk days with the high skirts and leather boots –
eff yeah!
I personally have been best man in three weddings
in the past 4 years and participated in countless others. All of them
have been traditional boring church, white dress, tuxedo sleep inducers.
When I get married I want to have FUN during it. I want everyone else
to have FUN. My brother had a Disney themed wedding with centerpieces
of Disney characters - that’s a start but still lame.
I’ve discussed this with my girlfriend and
she still dreams of a white gown, princess for a day thing that she’s
had since childhood. It would blend in with all the dozens of other
weddings people go to in their lives. MAKE A STATEMENT. Have a wedding
people talk about for DECADES. I guarantee if you do a Star Trek wedding,
EVERY wedding the attendees go to from then on will ALWAYS mention
YOUR wedding in reference. Even a lesbian wedding is second in comparison.
Truthfully, it doesn’t have to be a Star Trek
theme; it could be Lord Of the Rings. Have Gandalf marry you. The
groomsman dressed as the fellowship. This is the theme my girlfriend
somewhat considers because she and her bridesmaids would be elves
and she likes those dresses.
Or maybe a superhero wedding. Everyone dresses as
a superhero. Decorating the reception would be easy and cheap with
all the children’s balloons as Spiderman and such. The centerpieces
can be comic books. Or DVDs of X-Men. A centerpiece someone actually
WANTS for a change. Or a Zombie Wedding. Or an Alien Wedding. It's
endless.
So there it is. Don’t be boring with your wedding.
Do something cool and memorable.
End transmission.
