So I am a Dark Angel dork. It's not
hard since there were only two seasons, but I own all the DVD's including
a few promo only dealios, like a DVD of the pilot, a copy of a signed
script of the pilot, 2 boxes of the collector cards, all 3 paperbacks
in the series, the "Eyes Only Dossier" book, t-shirts, fan
fics, spent countless hours on fan sites (still the only show I have
ever frequented a fan site for, not even the Simpsons site held my
interest very long, and I loooooooove the Simpsons) drew fan art,
bought unofficial merch from the Chinese on ebay, and have all the
action figures, MIB (ed. mint in box). Plus, I STILL, 4 years
after it's cancellation, discuss it with other fans online, still
join fan clubs when the opportunity arises, watch horrible homemade
fan videos on YouTube.com, and aspire to make my own, hate "firefly"
for being why DA never had a third season, and refer to it as "DA".
OH! I totally forgot to mention the scrapbook! I kept every article
from TV guide, newspapers, ads, and every mention of that show I've
ever seen. Bought sci-fi magazines on Ebay, even sadly, I bought
a Maxim for their DA coverage. I have all the posters I could get
my dirty little hands on, and kept them all nice and neat in their
toooooobs. I seriously considered the bar code tattoo on the neck,
but I have an ever so slight fear that if there is a hell, I shouldn't
specifically have the mark on me... just in case.
I didn't even mention all the Dark Angel dreams I would have.
Unhealthy? To say the least! Whole episodes that never were... and
the ones where I'd wake up sweating because I had a dream I MISSED
an episode... those ones were scary... I have a bunch of fanfics
from other people I would print out and keep in the scrapbook...
I bought this light from Asia on Ebay that is an illuminated Dark
Angel promo, completely unlicensed of course, and the plug looks
like some kid made it in shop class, but it's mine! (that was like
2 months ago, burning obsession lives on!) Then there was the time
I was so sad because I didn't win the auction for the Dark Angel
light switch cover...
AND I once got a subscription to gameinformer magazine because
you got a free Dark Angel soundtrack promo CD. even though I already
had the soundtrack. (did I mention I had the soundtrack?)
I win.
